People Come Into Your Life For A Reason, A Season, Or A Lifetime
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are..
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
This person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
Things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
Love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant
Thank you for being a part of my life,
Whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

A dear friend sent me this and it helped through a hardship and rejection from a loved one. I get very vested in people I love and I have a hard time accepting their rejection, however, this is a fact of life. If I did not care it wouldn’t hurt so much. When you love it exposes you to heartache sometimes but we can’t stop loving because it can bring great joy also. The pain of heart is real but so is the joy and happiness that comes when you reach out to others in love.
Family rejection is the hardest to get through because they are supposed to be a relationship that lasts a lifetime, but all too many times people classify family members as unsafe and will no longer have any relationship with them. Notwithstanding personal abuse and malice: “desire to inflict injury, harm, or suffering on another, either because of a hostile impulse or out of deep-seated meanness”, many times it is just a misunderstanding. And that is the tragedy of most of family rejections and hard feelings of loved ones.
While communication is the key to restoration it is also the answer for rejection in the first place. Not telling someone what your thinking can be as bad as telling them a lie. If we want transparent relationships with others that are worthy to befriend then we must use love and wisdom in what we say and do involve others. Kindness even when we disagree is important and goes a long way to mending misunderstandings in our motives and views.
This seems like it should be common sense but when we are hurt it can change the way we see things. We fear conflict and problem solving with others because it is hard work and we know that we were wronged and we feel justified in rejecting that offending one even if we don’t know all the facts. After days, months and sometime years we accept not having relationship and feel right in doing so. Forgiveness is far from our mind and we harden our heart.
This is not God’s way. We are all in this thing called life together and we all make mistakes. People are precious to God and should be to us too. Jesus was asked the greatest commandment and he answered in Matthew 22:17,
37 Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Love God and love others; what a concept. How many world problems would be solved if we did just that. Jesus comforts me with these words and tells me that all things are possible to he who believes including the reconciliation of family in good standing and fellowship. Keep on keeping on and love God and others. Lord help me to honor this in my heart. 🙂 Walt
